LECTURES: Naturally, the top attractions of the weekend's events are the awesome lectures by each of our headliner magicians. We work hard to get some of the hottest performers and lecturers possible - they're always extremely good teachers, as well as wildly entertaining people. You can bank on having a ball and learning a lot from each and every one of them!
STAGE SHOW(s): We have our main headline show on Saturday night. Friday night's show is a bit more casual, but a lot of fun none-the-less.
MARQUEE CLOSE UP SHOWS: You'll see all of our heavyweights doing close up shows genuinely close up! Us attendees are grouped in different rooms, and the performers rotate around so everybody gets to see each one perform in this genuinely intimate setting.
PANEL DISCUSSION: We have all our headliners on stage together talking about issues of their choosing, as well as topics you bring up. Watch the chemistry of thoughts take it's course!
SUNDAY WORKSHOPS: We may or may not continue to offer private extra-fee workshops on Sunday.
CONTEST: This usually stand-up parlor magic, with each person getting up to 6 minutes. By parlor, we mean standing up, with no magic happening down on a table (though a table can be used to place props.) The contest takes place in the small cinema just off the main room, and is limited to 12 contestants. Ask questions or sign up by emailing Larry Seymore (lsixburger@q.com). Or sign up at the event.
DEALERS and SWAP TABLES: In addition to magic items for sale in the Dealer's Room, we'll also have communal tables on Sunday where anybody can sell or swap their own items.
JAM SESSIONS: If we can work it in, we might have some host magicians lead a series of impromptu workshops focusing on specific topics. Last year we had some top local guys share their expertise on a variety of specialties. If this isn't set up formally, there are always some informal jam sessions, with any and all interested people rolling up their sleeves and digging in!
THE MAN, THE MIND, THE MAGIC: We're still hoping that one of these years we'll be able to work in a screening of this Jerry Andrus documentary, with the director Robert Neary making a special appearance to say a few words and answer questions. Link to movie and trailer
